John Lyon Award - open only to veterans, active duty personnel, and their dependents
 (proof required at later date). Enter on the same NoVA Classic site.
In honor of our friends at the John Lyon VFW Post 3150, as part of the NoVA Classic Homebrew Competition, John Lyon entries will be part of a sub-competition.

Registration and beer entries for the 2022 NoVA Classic  Sep 1 to Oct 11,  2022.
Judging will take place Saturday, October 22, 2022. Awards and prizes announced later. This website will be updated -- stay tuned for more information.



In 2017, GRiST partnered with the John Lyon VFW Post 3150, Arlington, VA  to create the NoVA Classic Homebrew Competition (AHA/BJCP sanctioned) open to all homebrewers.

Q: What will it cost to enter?

A: It will cost $10 per entry with all proceeds supporting John Lyon VFW Post 3150.

Q: Am I limited in how many entries I can submit?

A: Yes, each brewer is limited to three entries.

Q: Does this limit count if I enter the Veterans/Active Duty Division?

A: Yes.

Q: Is there a limit in the number of entrants for the Veterans/Active Duty Division?

A: Yes, the entry cap for the Veterans/Active Duty Division is 10, with one entry per brewer. 

Q: When will registration open and close?

A: Registration will open on Monday, August 20 and close on either October 12 at 5:00 p.m. or when the 200-entry cap has been reached. 

Q: When and where will drop off be?

A: Drop off will begin Wednesday, September 27 and end Friday, October 12 at 5:00 p.m. All drop offs will be at 3 Stars Brewing Company 6400 Chillum Pl NW, Washington, DC 20012.
